Get to know Costa Blanca

The fun fact first!
The Costa Blanca is not as cold or wet in the winter as the Costa Brava, north of Costa Blanca, nor is it as humid or hot in the summer as the Costa del Sol, in the south. The Costa Blanca has the best all year-round temperatures. The climate is recognized as one of the best in the world by the World Health Organization.

Why the Costa Blanca, really?
We can all agree already that the weather in Costa Blanca is awesome whole year round. Spain with its rich cultural and historical heritage, added to its affordable cost of living Spain is a beloved country and a chosen destination for plenty of young couples, business entrepreneurs, families, and retire-es, from across the globe! Especially those from colder weather countries like Norway, Sweden, UK exc., well, can we blame them? The weather, the seaside, the rest of stunning nature, the relaxed way of living, who wouldn’t want to move to Spain?

Lower cost of living

A lower cost of living is another good reason that many people want to move to Spain, and the Costa Blanca provides that. The Alicante province is cheaper when it comes to property than Madrid, Catalonia, Costa del Sol, the Basque Country, and the Balearic Islands. Why so?
Today, Alicante’s region is building properties at the highest rate seen since 2008. According to Spanish media outlet Expansión, 3,100 residential units started to be built in the Alicante province in 2020, 73% more than during the same period of the previous year. A total of 8,300 residential units are to be brought to market in 2023, almost 2000 units more than 2019. The construction growth is a sign of market recovery.

International Connections

If you want to visit home or explore more of Europe or further afield, then the Costa Blanca is a good base to do so. Alicante-Elche Airport is the fifth-busiest airport in Spain and the main airport serving both the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia.

Healthy food

The Mediterranean diet of fresh fish, seafood, fruits and vegetables is held in high regard around the world, and you have access to all of these on the Costa Blanca – along with many amazing restaurants! This healthy diet is the main reason why Spain has one of the highest life expectancies in Europe.

Blue flag beaches
For the past 33 years in a row, Spain has officially had the best beaches in the world, with a record of 615 blue flag beaches in 2021. Here on the Costa Blanca, 134 of these are in the Valencian region, and 86 in the Alicante province.

Things to do
You’ll never be short of things to do on the Costa Blanca! Whether you want to relax on the beautiful beaches, take part in some watersport’s activities, hike in the mountains, play golf on an award-winning course, or do some sight-seeing in the city, the Costa Blanca can offer all of this and lots more.
